I didn't give specific examples, except for the references to Spurgeon and Alsop because I wanted to keep it at a conceptual level and I've written very specifically here before. The things you are writing about are external worldliness that are worldliness. Ironically, I do believe they are a heart issue too, but the externals are where the worldliness is happening.

Part of worldliness is commonality and profanity, which all mean something.Kent Brandenburghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13419354741455959191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213892.post-49582007214049500602013-10-07T05:29:07.589-07:002013-10-07T05:29:07.589-07:00Kent, I have noticed that even seasoned pastors wh...Kent, I have noticed that even seasoned pastors who have been lifelong separatist are now embarrassed by their stance against worldliness. Our former pastor used to never show up to church during the week in casual attire. He now wears a t-shirt, shorts and sandals almost every day to work. He has asked the rest of his staff to dress more casual. The pastor’s wives and church secretary wear tight, form fitting pants on church campus during the week. The teenage girls are dressing like harlots in seductive attire and the teenage boys look like thugs. Before I left the church I had hours of conversation with the pastor. He kept promising me that things are not changing and that he was still a separatist but he said that the culture is changing and we need to be relevant. I sometimes wonder if these men were never separatist but just followed the lead of those in their camp and when a few jumped shipped they were following right behind them taking their church with them.
