Wow!Terry McGovernhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07785714020219737129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213892.post-1150172555679334452006-06-12T21:22:00.000-07:002006-06-12T21:22:00.000-07:00Reminds me of a conversation I had with my sister ...Reminds me of a conversation I had with my sister today. She said that someone came to her door from a local church to invite her out to some Rock concert outreach they were putting on. She confronted the man with the fact that Rock music is the music of the world and God wants us to be separated from it - it is black and white, and He doesn't want us dabbling in sin and compromise.

His response, "Oh, I know that - but sometimes you have to use the things of the world to reach the world. We need this kind of music to reach more people, especially the teens." Then he made a statement how that was what got him into that church and "saved" six years ago. Yet he has never gotten beyond the watered-down Bible and music to this day, and now he thinks God is calling him to be a pastor! (Wonder what kind of church he will pastor in or where he will lead that church...)

It is like that statement I have heard so many times before: What you win them with, you win them too!

Forget the highways, the mega churches, the rock bands, the NIVs and Living bibles, the worldly dress and entertainment - forget the highways to the world. What we need is a highway of holiness:

Isaiah 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

Thanks for continuing to build that highway of separation!Jerry Boueyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11939572388745111915noreply@blogger.com
