Although the subject can become very confusing and pull in a huge amount of information I know nothing about (manuscripts etc) I believe the heart of the issues is simple: Is the Bible your final authority and do you believe what God plainly says about His Word. That is it, the rest is all noise, or it seems an attempt to avoid this question.

JohnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213892.post-47614187361062193612015-08-12T14:16:41.305-07:002015-08-12T14:16:41.305-07:00I have much more to add later, but a quick observa...I have much more to add later, but a quick observation on your comment about teaching Hebrew & Greek:

The very first time that White blocked me on Twitter before any discussion of personal issues I'd been made aware of by his sister, or discussions on Calvinism, I had corrected a Hebrew blunder he had made https://twitter.com/DrOakley1689/status/449176767501049856 and as a native Hebrew speaker from Israel, that got me curious as to what the Curriculum Vitae looked like from the colleges in which White claims to have taught SEMINARY LEVEL Hebrew at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.

To this day I have never received a response from GBTS or any other place White claims to have taught Hebrew at. Perhaps that vitae will surface during your interaction with him...but I won't hold my breath.Dr James Achhttp://dorightchristians.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213892.post-38472900833149533212015-08-12T10:04:12.290-07:002015-08-12T10:04:12.290-07:00Thanks Chris. I get why they talked about it. They didn't want their grads to be trouble out there. They wanted you to fit in, find that happy medium.

You've got to obey everything God said, which means not doing just one of the things He said. That requires balance, but that isn't what they mean. They mean that you've got to accept some error, balance error with truth, or take the middle position. The balance keeps moving toward the error, I've seen. This allows error to comfortably exist, which helps your coalition grow. Fewer are excluded this way. This isn't how Jesus operated.Kent Brandenburghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13419354741455959191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213892.post-29103741169073264352015-08-12T09:33:48.275-07:002015-08-12T09:33:48.275-07:00Thanks for this. Thanks for this.KJB1611https://www.blogger.com/profile/09696273086955004524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213892.post-85765344593249722582015-08-12T07:05:51.540-07:002015-08-12T07:05:51.540-07:00“ I've always wondered about the word balance,...“ I've always wondered about the word balance, used by Christians. It's not a word used in the Bible. “

The term ‘balance’ as used in the phrase, ‘you need to have balance’ is a device to allow for equivocation between the philosophies of man and the truth of God’s Word. “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Col 2:8 It seems to me that Christians are to be radically unbalanced.

I often hear this phrase used when Biblical commands are treated as if they are mutually exclusive. We are told we can’t “love” others and proclaim Biblical truth at the same time. 1 Cor 13 says different. If two apparently contradictory commands are given they can both be obeyed. We just need increased understanding and wisdom. We don’t need “balance.” We certainly don’t need it in regard to how and where God’s Word is to be found.

I've really enjoyed and been edified by all of the unbalanced truth in this blog. Thanks.

ChrisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
