It seems like for a subject that gets brought up so much, someone would have thought through it already and written considerably. It seems like a shift has occurred in a major way that has made life about us instead of God, even in churches.

The priesthood differs in the NT, but it is a priesthood. The church as the NT temple (1 Cor. 3:17). Christ walks in the midst (Rev. 1:19-2:1). We offer up spiritual sacrifices to God (1 Pet. 2:5) and perpetually (Rom. 12:1). The church decides on this since it is the pillar and ground of the truth, and since Scripture is clear, those will be the same essentially, I believe, in NT churches. As an example, Rom.13:14, Make no provision for the flesh---I think we can understand what that is.Kent Brandenburghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13419354741455959191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213892.post-1138759049606520062006-01-31T17:57:00.000-08:002006-01-31T17:57:00.000-08:00This is an iteresting point that is made. I would assume, (I may be wrong) that the priest could grill his steak or lamb chop almost any way he wanted in his own tent, but only under certain particular standards in the temple. But in the NT there is no physical temple. So are the standards a church has set for worsip to be held to everyday and in every instance of life, or are there some things you can do outside of church that should not be done in church? How do we biblically know the difference? The OT seems to be fairly clear about these things. Is the NT as clear?

Thanks for you efforts toward helping my understanding.Jeff Voegtlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16718288010688756299noreply@blogger.com
